Walking around the old city of Segovia, Spain, I stumbled across this old door to what looked like a garden on the other side. Old doorways and garden gates dot the walls of what would be otherwise uninteresting streets. The old doors provide some visual relief from the plain walls.
A visit to the Roman Forum and the Colosseum is a highlight of any visit to Rome. The history of the place makes this a must see. And even thought it is not much here photographically, it still provides some opportunities if one looks for them.
Along our way to Castelo de Sao Jorge in Lisbon, Portugal, we came across some very colorful graffiti along a stairway. The graffiti seemed to work with the ancient stairway, the two formed an interesting symmetry that stopped me and caused me to take this shot.
A nice peaceful and soft early morning along Sandbridge Beach shortly after sunrise. The beautiful rays of the sun shining through the clouds and lighting up the water below adds a special something to this shot.
A green door along a red wall along the port area of Lisbon, Portugal.

Three Buddhas which often are found in Buddhist temples of Japan and Korea (only two places where I have visited temples), Buddha of the past, Buddha of the present, and the Buddha of the future. These particular Buddhas are found at Shofuku-ji Zen Buddhist Temple in Fukuoka, Japan.
A photograph of Bodie Island Light down along the outer banks - OBX - of North Carolina. I had the great fortune to have beautiful puffy white clouds to use as a background for this photograph.
The ceiling of the El Transparente by Narciso Tome and his four sons at the Primate Cathedral of Santa Maria in Toledo, Toledo, Spain.
Golden hour down along the valley floor of Monument Valley with a view of the East Mitten framed by both Merrick Butte and the West Mitten.
On a sunny afternoon in Sintra, Portugal, we visited the National Palace of Pena (Palacio Nacional de Pena). It is both an odd and very interesting place, with exterior walls painted in bright yellow and orange-red. This is a photograph of a side walkway.
