A new feature for 2018, I am posting a photograph of the day and sharing my work with you.

A beautiful red wooden doorway framed be green hanging vines in Toledo, Spain.

I love Toledo Spain. It is a wonderful city, with the old and the new.  I really loved walking around the old city, walking down old streets with the houses right on the street. By that I mean for the most part there are no sidewalks.  Both people and cars share the way.  But it is really cool, and I found this old wooded door with red tiles along the sides and these green vines draping down in front of the door.

And I really liked the contrast between the reds and the green, really loved the texture of the wooden doors.

This particular photograph was shot with a Sony A7RII with a FE 24-240mm F/3.5-5.6 OSS lens.  I shot this photograph at f/8 at 1/125 sec at ISO 800. I shot at such a high ISO as I was seeing what the camera would do with ISO of 800 outdoors.  And I was amazed at how well it did!

This image was processed in Lightroom, cropped, and finished in Photoshop.

Fine Art Prints

for Purchase

Back in 1982, my Air Force roommate was in desperate need of some cash, and he had a camera. And I was in the market for a camera as I had TDY (Temporary Duty) orders for Cyprus and was looking for a good camera to take with me. So over some beers and some negotiations with my roommate (and a few hundred dollars later), I found that I had become the owner of a brand spanking new Canon AE-1 camera with an assortment of lens, including a Canon 50mm, a 35mm lens, as well as a telephoto lens.

Fast forward to today, and I am now an owner of a Canon 5D Mark II (looking to upgrade, but can't decide on my next camera) and a bunch of Canon glass and I am primarily a landscape and travel photographer. Yea, that means that I get up before the sun rises and am out after the sun sets. Makes for interesting times!

Thank you for joining me on this photographic journey and hope to hear from you!
