2018 Fall Art Show Calendar

This year is my first year that I will participate in art shows around the Phoenix area.

A staple of my latter years in Virginia Beach, I participated in art shows from Pennsylvania and New Jersey all the way down to Florida (Las Olas Art Show in Fort Lauderdale, anyone?).

In Virginia, I particapated in a number of Virginia Beach Boardwalk Art Shows, a number of Neptune Art Festivals, not to mention a number of shows down at the VB Convention center, as well as Willoughby Art Show just to name a few. In short, I am no stranger to art shows.

However, the transition from the east coast to the southwest has been a longer transition than I anticipated. Largely in that my artwork has changed from largely beach related themes to more southwestern themed photography. I have also added some travel related photography to round out the portfolio.

Plans for this Fall

So I will offer beach and coastal themed photographs, southwestern themed photographs and travel related themed photographs on my website, and in my booth.

I applied to five shows for this fall, and got accepted to four with the fifth as a standby, which I will turn down if offered as four is plenty while I am still working full time.

The shows I am participating in are noted below, with separate links to pages on each show, complete with maps and booth related information for those who are able to attend. I would love to see you guys if you plan to attend any of these shows, and would love to show you my new artwork that I have captured thus far out here in the southwest.

I have plans to have three walls (I am using a 10×10 sized tent. As this is my first year in this area, I wanted to “test” the waters before making the decision to move up to a 10×20 size tent that I have used in the past): One wall dedicated to the Grand Canyon, one wall dedicated to other areas of the Southwest, and the third wall dedicated to my Travel photography. 

I am looking forward to these fours shows and am excited to meet new people who are looking for some great photography and just want to chat!

Why am I paying to shop?
The Sedona Arts Festival is our primary fundraiser to support art education in the greater Sedona area.

To date, the Sedona Arts Festival has donated nearly $300,000 in scholarship and arts education funding.


We are a smoke-free event. Sorry, no pets allowed on property.

Our location on the campus of Sedona Red Rock High School prevents us from allowing pets on the property.

For their safety, please leave your pets at home. Service animals are, of course, allowed.

The Litchfield Park Festival of Arts, now in its 49th year, will take place in the historic resort community of Litchfield Park. A popular destination for outdoor Arts and Entertainment, Litchfield Park hosts a variety art and cultural Festivals, concerts, and special events throughout the year. The Festival of Arts is held annually during the first weekend of November, in the historic district surrounding the legendary Wigwam Resort. During the two day festival, the district transforms into a vibrant artisans village where patrons enjoy strolling along tree lined streets and shaded parks while perusing original works from more than 250 fine artists and craftsmen, and indulging in tasty culinary dishes and refreshing beverges from dozens of gourmet eateries, local wineries and micro breweries.

The Tempe Festival of the Arts consistently ranks among the Top 100 Classic & Contemporary Craft Shows in the nation by Sunshine Artist magazine and has received the prestigious Pinnacle Award from the International Festival and Events Association. The spring and fall events each attract nearly 225,000 visitors to the Downtown Tempe over the course of a 3-day weekend.

Quality independent artists are fundamental to the success of the event. Each Festival receives more than 500 applications from throughout North America, in 17 different visual arts categories that range from wood to photography to ceramics, wearable art, jewelry and other categories. From these applicants, a jury comprised of members of the local art community ranks the top artisans in each category to participate in the Festival, and the highest ranking artists receive invitations to participate. During the Festival, a new jury selects the best overall artist and the top artist in each category and these winners receive cash honoraria awards.

As many as 375 artist booths line Mill Avenue and the surrounding streets presenting unique, and hand-made artwork that offers visitors a distinctive shopping experience.

Phoenix Festival of the Arts returns to Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix, December 7-9, 2018Phoenix Center for the Arts is proud to present the seventh annual event, featuring more than 150 art and food vendors. It’s a perfect time to shop for local art and celebrate the season.

Live entertainment, taking place on 3 stages, includes local bands, solo artists, dancers, choral groups, spoken word artists, comedians, art demonstrations, and more!

The Phoenix Mural Project, a hands-on community art project organized by acclaimed local muralist, Hugo Medina, is a signature component of the Festival, allowing community members to paint and create alongside professional local artists.

The Family Zone, presented by the Phoenix Center for the Arts Teen Artist Guild, provides fun, free activities for families all day long. Activities include face painting, the teen art show & sale, and lots of fun with Phoenix Youth Circus Arts

Beer and wine, sponsored by Hensley Beverage Company, can be carried throughout the Festival grounds. Food vendor lineup to be announced in the coming months.

The Festival Main Stage, sponsored by Rebel Lounge, includes some of the best local bands in town. The Entertainment Pavilion, sponsored by Muse, features art demonstrations, circus performances, dance ensembles, spoken word poets, choral groups, and more! The Acoustic Stage, sponsored by Soliloquies, will offer up some amazing up-and-coming solo and duo acts from around the Valley.
